LOCATION

Amravati is famous for being a very big educational center. It is well connected by rail and road to all major cities in India. All trains on Howrah - Bombay Route stop at Badnera. [10 K.M. suburban area of Amravati]. Direct trains are available for Bombay, Ahmadabad, Pune, Delhi Howrah, Chennai. It is located on National Higway No.6 connecting Bombay & Calcutta. Nearest airport is Nagpur which is 150 Km from Amravati.

The college is situated at Shivaji Nagar, opposite to the Head Quarter of Shri Shivaji Education Society and is also on National Highway No. 6.

All Departments are located at main College Campus. It has 2 big lecture halls and an examination hall for 125 students sitting arrangement.

Department of Anatomy

Dr. S. G. Malwatkar, M.S. 1976 (Prof. & H.O.D.) The facilities include a museum a histology lab and dissection hall with enough cadavers.

Department of Physiology & Biophysics

Dr. S. S. Pande, M.D. 1991 (Prof. & H.O.D.) The experimental lab working has been provided with enough supply of manpower and material. It also maintains an animal laboratory.

Department of Microbiology

Dr. P. R. Bhise, M.D. 1988 (Prof. & H.O.D.) The routine lab works include various microbial cultures, drug sensitivity tests and research activities. A clinical microbiology section in the hospital wing caters to patients investigations.

Department of Pathology

Dr. A. T. Deshmukh, M.D. 1983 ( Prof. & H.O.D.) A modern computerized pathology lab with large numbers of pathological specimens in the museum. It also runs an inter-related hospital section of clinical pathology, histopathology, cytology.

Department of Pharmacology

Dr. S.S.Deshpande (Prof. & H.O.D.) Apart from having a well equipped and spaced lab, it also runs the pharmacy wing and a 24 hrs. drugs store in the hospital for patients routine and emergency requirments.

Department of Forensic Medicine

Dr. A.S. Tank, M.D. 1984 (Prof & H.O.D.) It maintains a museum and lab. The postmortem facility has been provided in the mortuary of the district hospital.

Department of Medical Education

Dr. A. T. Deshmukh, M.D. 1983 ( Prof. of Pathology) The department is meant to provide various audio-visual teaching aids apart from coordinating the research activities and training  of medical teachers and technical staff under continued medical education (CME) programme in collaboration with Medical Council of India and state Medical Council

Specialties : They are likely to be started soon. The college is already running diploma courses in different medical specialties, which are affiliated to the college of physicians surgeons (CPS) Mumbai and Diplomat National Board (DNB) courses in selected disciplines.

LIBRARY

Library has spacious air-conditioned reading rooms and it has about 9789 books and more that 55 current periodicals and journals with back volumes. Textbooks are also issued to the needy student, internet medler, e-journals.

HOSTELS

Chief  Warden : Dr. N. P. Umale (Prof. Dept. of Surgery). The college has two spacious hostels (one each for Boys and Girls Separately). Hostels are located besides the college campus.

STAFF QUARTERS

Staff Quarters are Provided to the teaching staff of the college and located beside the main hospital complex.

Sports and Recreation Facilities

The play ground has been provided near the Boys hostel complex and it includes a swimming - pool complex also. The sport activities are conducted under a sport instructor on regular basis. The college has to its credit representation in the university games activities from time to time. An indoor auditorium with capacity of 500 is located in the main college campus, named after Late Mrs. Vimlabai Deshmukh, the wife of Late founder President of the Society, Dr. Panjabrao alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh.
